Day Tour to Porto-Lagos

The monastic state has strict rules. Only men can get here, and only after receiving a special permit. Women can't step in Mount Athos land. The pilgrimage center "Thessalonica", has a lot of people who is wishing to join the shrines of Athos, that’s why we have a special program "Adoration of the Holy Virgin's Belt". The final destination of our trip is Porto Lagos - St. Nicholas Compound of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi. Today it consists of three functioning temples. In prayerful silence, reverence, purity and peace, there is a feeling that you are on the very Holy Athos, in one of its monasteries. The confessor will tell you about the history of the courtyard, Belt of the Blessed Virgin. You can talk with him about your problems, ask him for advice and ask him questions. We will be stop for a drink and lukum - traditional Athos sweetness. On the second of the three islands of the courtyard, in the temple of the icon of the Virgin "Vsezaritsa", pilgrims will see the very holy shrine - Belt of the Blessed Virgin. After the pray  in honor of the Mother of God, which will be performed by the monks of the Vatopedi monastery, we  will be able to attach  to the Belt. On the way back, we will pass along the bridge, where several decades ago Saint Nicholas appeared to the people.

•     Visiting of sacred places provides a certain form of clothing: for men: long trousers and closed shoulders. For women: a skirt below the knee, a closed line of neckline and shoulders (it is not necessary to cover the head).

    Cancellation Policy :

      If you cancel at least 7 days in advance of the schedule departure, there will be no cancellation fee. If you cancel between 3 and 6 days, there will be a 50 percent cancellation fee. If you cancel within two days, there will be a 100 percent cancellation fee.
